Socially Responsible Investing (SRI)

...means many things to many people. A few of the ways I incorporate SRI into my portfolios are as follows:

  • Screening out tobacco companies, arms manufacturers and companies involved in nuclear energy.
  • Actively looking for companies doing a better job in areas we want to encourage. Examples of this are aiding the transition to a low carbon economy, fair labour practices, and promoting diversity at all levels - employees, management and the board.
  • Supporting community and social finance initiatives like SolarShare bonds where possible.

We are stewards. Our actions and our decisions, both global and personal, must be sustainable over time. Decisions about your investments are made within this long term context.

I am happy to discuss SRI with you in more detail.
